NYC HYBRID UPDATE
- There are now over 800 Yellow Cab Hybrids (Feb.28th, 2008).
- On Feb 28th, 2008 Mayor Bloomberg announced a new initiative that will require all black cars operating in NYC change to high-mileage, low-emissions vehicles by 2012.
- On June 16, 2005 the Transportation Committee heard public testimony on Bill 642.
- On June 30, 2005 the New York City Council voted 50:0 to pass the "Clean Air Taxis Act"
- On July 20, 2005 Mayor Bloomberg signed the Clean Air Taxi Act into law during a press conference at 4:30 pm making NYC the first city in the world to enact such a policy.
